Fun Stories

Melissa the Butterfly

Ballet dancer

Butterfly

Likes to dance

and likes to fly.

Yesterday she danced

with the clouds

And she heard

the thunder sounds!

Bumblebee

Bumblebee, bumblebee,

Look at this amazing bee!

She is doing exercise,

That’s the bee is very nice.

If you want to loose your weight,

Turn around the heavy gate!

Garry the Slug

I’m a lovely garden slug—

Elegant and snug and smug.

Will you ask me in for tea?

I can slime down from my tree!

Jean-Paul the Mantis and a drum

I want to buy a Cuban drum

And take it for a morning run.

The drum is bright and really nice—

But sadly, oh! It has a price…

I’ll wait a bit and think it through—

That’s what wise mantises do!

Liam and Sam the Ants count the sticks

One, two, three, four, five, six…

I’m tired of counting all these sticks!

“How many sticks are here with me?”

“One red, five brown — that makes six, see?”

Red and brown and neat in a mix,

Let’s count again — one, two, three, four, five, six!

Annie the Bug is dreaming

Watering the plants,

Dancing in the sun —

That’s the kind of thing

I call the most fun!

I play with my friends,

The holiday ends…

But dreams are still clever —

What comes up next?

Whatever!

Emma and Vincent play games

“Yesterday I bought a ball,

Do you want to play football?”

“No, today I bought a dress—

I feel like playing quiet chess!”

Emma and Annie listen to music

“Music is magic, sweet and clear—

Let’s play that song again, my dear!”

“Once is enough—I’m on my feet!

This song has such a dancing beat!”

Old friends play (Two bugs play)

“Who is sitting on the log?

I can see a big green frog!”

“Who is jumping down here?

I can see a funny hare!”

“Who is hiding in the box?

I can see a fluffy fox!”

“Who is flying over the rug?

My old friend Richard the Bug!”

Emma the Little Bug and Annie the Tall bug at the den

“We could find at the den

One amazing orange pen…”

“Only one?

Oh no! Ten!

Better check your tiny den!”

Vincent the Spider found a hollow

Vincent the Spider found a tree—

A hollow home, as nice could be!

He checked it twice, then cleaned it well,

And smiled: “It’s perfect, I can tell!”

“It’s warm and quiet, just the place

For webs and rest—and spider space!

It’s cozy, calm, and quite a prize—

I think I’ll check it thrice, not twice!”

Sam the Ant and a mini van

My friend Sam

Has a mini van.

Sam is a big boy—

He just turned ten.

His dad said:

“He’s ten years old,

That mini van

Is already sold!”

Jean-Paul and Emma play Hide-and-seek

We played a game of hide-and-seek—

The little bug and someone big!

Then we played some peekaboo,

Jumping out and shouting “Boo!”

Emma the Little Bug

My friend Emma, the Little Bug,

Wants to give me a big hug.

“No, no, no, my friend so dear—

We must be careful now, I fear!

There’s a virus in the air…

Let’s send love, but from our chair!”

Julie the Cockroach

In the desert, Nita met

A guest she wouldn’t soon forget—

Julie the Cockroach, sweet and sly,

Admiring cactus flowers nearby.

“Oh no,” thought Nita, “She might stay!

And eat my food all night and day!”

Then Julie smiled and sang aloud:

“I am a cockroach, small and proud!

I’m nice and sweet, I’m not a pest,

But I do love a cozy nest!

I snack all day on things I find—

From crumbs to cake (I do not mind!).

Most of it’s yummy… but once in a while…

It’s something strange—yet still, I smile!”

Two Bugs on the train

“Why the frown upon your face?

We’re off to see a brand-new place!”

“I guess I’ll try and be more brave…

This train is fun—our ride is safe!”

Liam the Ant

My neighbor Liam, strong and wise,

Sent a gift—a lovely prize!

“Thank you kindly, Ant so neat,

What a thoughtful, fun surprise!

A shiny clutch—so small, so sweet!”

Jean-Paul the Mantis and Brian the Snail

Mantis, Mantis,

Tall and bright,

Can you see me

In your sight?

I’m down low

And moving slow—

A tiny snail

With lots to show!

Count the Bugs

One bug,

Two bugs,

Three and four—

I’ve arrived

And I want more!

Five bugs,

Six bugs,

Seven, eight…

Where are the rest?

Oh no—they’re late!

Emma the Bug and a Yellow car

“I want a yellow car so bright—

I’ll be a movie star by night!”

“But Emma, that won’t take you far…

A car won’t make you a movie star!”

Conversation

Butterfly and Flea together

Chat about the sunny weather:

“Do you like the sky today?”

“Oh, it’s lovely—blue and gray!”

Count the Bees

One bee, two bees, three and four,

Five bees buzzing at the door!

Who is living in the hive?

Let’s count again—one, two, three, four, five!

Oliver the Frog and Ants

Friendly Oliver is round, not thin,
Jumps around and makes a spin.
Ants appear with cheerful grin—
“Thanks,” he laughs, “but you’re too thin!”

Busy Worms

Organized and busy worms
Are wiggling all around.
Shy and quiet garden worms—
Time to leave the ground!

My veggies want to stretch and grow,
But they’re too shy—just like you know!

Jean-Paul the Mantis wants to study

Jean-Paul the Mantis wants to study—
A clever chap, polite and tidy.
He bought two lenses for his eyes,
And shiny shades—a smart disguise!

“I must look sharp for class,” he said,
With tiny books upon his head.
But then a fly flew in and scoffed,
“Ha! Shades and books? You’re showing off!”

Jean-Paul replied, “Mais non, my friend—
Real learning is the finest trend!
Go buzz around if that’s your style—
But I prefer my brain with guile!”

The fly just blinked and spun mid-air,
While Jean-Paul smoothed his scholar’s wear.

Beatrice the Ladybug and Harry the Slug

Beatrice the Ladybug hummed on a leaf,
When Harry the Slug crawled up like a thief.
“Beatrice the Ladybug! Wait for me, please!”
“I’m busy right now — collecting some cheese!”

“But I brought you a gift in a sunflower wrap!”
“Is it not sticky? Or gooey? Or… zap?”
“It’s shiny and blue, and it smells like a rose!”
“It’s not one of your buttons you found near your nose?”

Poor Harry the Slug gave a theatrical sigh.
“I’ll be in the shade, if you happen to spy.”
Then Beatrice giggled and flew to his side—
“Let’s play hide-and-squeak! But no slime this time!”

Beatrice the Ladybug celebrates her birthday

Nita the Orange Crow flew in
To join the birthday buzz and din.
Beatrice smiled: “So tell me, dear,
How many guests have gathered here?”

Nita looked and turned around—
There were insects on the ground,
In the trees and in the air…
Little friends were everywhere!

“I could count the ladybugs,
But I’d miss the tiniest bugs!
Some are hiding in a flower…
I could try… but not this hour!”

Harry the Slug and Richard the Bug are going on a trip

Harry the Slug and Richard the Bug
Packed up a map and a travel mug.

“This road is long,” said Harry with pride,
“Let’s sing a song while we enjoy the ride!”

And off they went with a musical grin,
Their travel tune began like this—begin!

🎶 Road Trip Song:

“Wiggle left and wiggle right,
Snacks at noon and stars at night!
If you find a leafy snack,
Save a bite and don’t look back!”

Isabel the Dragonfly

Helicopter Dragonfly,

You can jump up very high,

You fly faster than a fly,

Bring me, please, a piece of sky!

Jean-Paul the Mantis

A summer trip is calling—
It’s fun and far and bright!
Jean-Paul the Mantis drummer
Is packing up tonight.

He’s searching for his drumsticks
And a giant orange case,
“I’ll take some extra chopsticks too—
Just in case, just in case!”

Rosemary the Bee!

Busy Rosemary the Bee,
Always buzzing happily—
Will you join the flower ball?
There’ll be dancing for us all!
